Meet Five of the Most Famous Female Magicians
Historically, magic has been a field dominated by men. And, to be sure, there have been many incredible male magicians over the years – many of whom you would recognize immediately on the stage or screen. But what about the countless talented women who have forged a career in this field? I might be biased – okay, I’m definitely biased – but I think female magicians are incredible and more than worthy of your attention.
With this post, I’d like to highlight five of the top female magicians in the business. You may have heard a few of these names previously, and others may be new to you. Either way, after reviewing this list, there will be no doubt that the future of magic is in qualified, capable hands.
Juliana Chen
A well-known female magician with a unique style all her own, Juliana Chen is an easy choice to include in this list. Not only does Juliana bring incredible magic skills to her performances, but she also has a background in dance and theater, allowing her to create a composed show that grabs the attention of the audience from the start. As a result of her accomplishments, she has been given several awards and is responsible for moving female magic forward in many ways.
Juliana’s story is as incredible as it is inspiring. Originally from China, she started performing at a young age and was skilled in foot juggling. After injuries caused her to move away from that type of performing, she became interested in magic and the rest is history. It was after moving to Canada that her magic career started to take off and she should gradually build an international career that allowed her to take stages around the globe.
Carisa Hendrix
Magic in general is what it is today because so many magicians throughout history have been willing to push the limits and take this type of performance to greater heights. That notion can be applied to Carisa Hendrix, who goes by the name “Lucy Darling”. It’s the combination of traditional magic, great storytelling, and moments of comedy that come together in a show that countless fans have loved throughout her career. The semi-improvised nature of many of her shows allows Hendrix to bring a valuable element to live performing that isn’t seen in every act.
Born and raised in Canada, Hendrix started to gain traction in her career in 2010, first as an actress and model. Soon enough, she was developing and testing her magic skills in front of crowds, and even captured a Guinness Book of World Records title by performing the “Longest Torch Teething” in Rome, Italy.

From major television appearances on shows like Penn and Teller: Fool Us and Masters of Illusion, to live performances in many different countries around the world, I’m honored to have brought smiles to so many faces.
At the core of my career has been a deep love of the art of magic. I truly love bringing a trick to life, mastering its execution, and creating that childlike sense of wonder in my audiences. After getting started at the age of 18 when I performed as a princess for kid’s parties, I knew that performing was what I wanted to do with my life, and making that dream a reality is something I’ll never take for granted.

A prominent performer in the United Kingdom, Katherine Mills has proven herself as a highly-desirable act for a range of different types of events. Her calling card is a blend of magic and mentalism that few others have explored previously. Not only have British audiences enjoyed her incredible displays, but so too have audiences in many other places around the world been impressed by her skills, as she has made visits to other locations in Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and beyond.
